Sheikh Salim Fergani, Mâalouf singer and ‘ûd ‘arbi lute player from Constantine.

Sheikh Salim Fergani comes from an old family of musicians of Constantine. He is the son of Hadj Mohamed Tahar Fergani and is considered one of the best representatives of the Mâalouf tradition, one of the three Algerian schools of Arab-Andalusian music.
The sensitivity of his singing, his intimate knowledge of poetic texts, the rare and unique mastery of the 12 noubas and his perfect mastery of the lute make him the repository of a wide and noble cultural heritage whose origins date back to the Arab kingdoms of Andalusia.
